GW continued their winning form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Old Willies, marking their third win of the season. The team showcased their skill and dominance throughout the match, with vice-captain Andy Franklin leading the way.
The game’s opening goal came courtesy of Franklin, who delivered a sensational strike from the top of the D, burying the ball in the top left corner to put GW ahead. His brilliant form continued with a second goal, as he skillfully dribbled around the goalkeeper and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left corner after a slick combination of play between himself and Tom Simcock.
The first half ended with GW firmly in control, leading 2-0.
The second half saw GW maintain the pressure, relentlessly attacking the Old Willies’ defense. Their persistence paid off when the ball fell to captain James Zygmant, who made no mistake in securing his first goal of the match, further extending GW’s lead to 3-0.
Despite more chances for GW, the game ended 3-0, with Old Willies unable to mount a comeback. Tom Simcock was deservedly awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance in midfield, playing a key role in both attack and defense throughout the game.
GW will be thrilled with this dominant performance as they continue their strong run in the season.
